Winter is sneaking up on all of us in the Northern Hemisphere. The days are getting shorter, and the mornings are quite cool now. If you are like me, this is a signal that it’s time to think about a trip somewhere. The question is, where…. where can you travel in November that provides a great experience and yet is still affordable?
Where and where to go…
There are so many choices, and sometimes it’s rather difficult to pick just one place to go. I rather enjoy travelling to Africa, and you can land some incredible deals on flights out of London and Amsterdam direct to places like Dakar, Senegal and Accra Ghana, or if you time it right, you may be able to pick up a flight to New York ina seat sale.
In Dakar for example, you can stay in an inexpensive place like the Minotel Les Flamboyants. This hotel is located south of Dakar in a town called Mbour. The hotel isn’t directly on the beach, but it’s close enough that you can walk there in about 2 minutes. The nightly price is amazingly affordable and you get a while lot for your money including full use of the pools and other on-site facilities.
If Africa isn’t your thing, then how about heading off to the USA where you can enjoy Thanksgiving with the Americans. One of the best places to do this is in New York City where the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is probably the largest parade in the world. If you do decide to go for this option, make sure you book your hotel early – the Parade starts at 9:00am on the 26th of November. There is no “best place” to watch the parade by the way – just pick a spot along the route and settle in for a great experience. Make sure you bring along a few friends or family and it will be even more fun.
