In August, when the sun is shining, and the summer weather is heating up the days, one of the best things you can do is hit up one of the great music festivals. The Reading and Leeds Festival is one I can highly recommend. It takes place on the bank holiday weekend in August – from the 24rd to the 25th of August this year.
The venue is all outdoors. The Reading site is hosted at Little John’s Farm in Reading, not far from the famous Caversham Bridge, and the Leeds site is Bramham Park, close to Wetherby. Most people attending the festival will set up tents in nearby fields, but if you’re like me, you can book into one of the many nearby hotels and have a comfortable nights sleep… or, more likely, mornings sleep.
Who is headlining this year? Just a few minor artists like…Green Day, Eminem, Nine Inch Nails, Skrillex, and Fallout Boy. OK, that’s not really a bunch of minor artists. There is quite an impressive list of artists at the festival for 2013, and if you enjoy the latest rock, indie and alternative music trends, then this is the place you want to be in August!
A nice feature of this festival is that it’s not all just music. If you head over to the Alternative stage, you can enjoy comedy acts, beatbox, and even catch a screening of the movie Snoop Lion: Reincarnated. With this much choice at hand, it’s definitely work the price of admission for the whole weekend.
